Flexible Pharmacy Staffing has an open position for a full-time (or part-time) Certified Medical Assistant in a vibrant Physicians Office located in St. Matthews, Kentucky (east Louisville).

Schedule Details:
- Monday - Friday: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
- Off weekends and 6 paid holidays

Job duties may include some or all of the following:
- Administrative and Clinical Duties in line with playing a crucial role in a medical doctor's office.
- Prior Authorization paperwork. Prior Authorizations are requests made to insurance companies to enable a patient to get the requested medical service or prescriptions. These requests may come directly from the patients or from other healthcare providers.
- Must be willing to learn to draw blood. A license is not required for this, but certification is possible.
- General Office Duties: Tasks that are clerical in nature (greeting patients, answering phones, appointment scheduling, scanning, filing, processing, typing)
- Keep the office (including exam rooms), neat, clean, and presentable to patients
- General Clinical Duties: Tasks that help make the patient care process go, such as medical coding, lab specimen processing, assisting doctors in the exam room, teaching patients how to use a glucose monitor, etc.
- Additional duties as requested by management and professional medical staff

Requirements:
- Must have a CMA (certified medical assistant) credential
- A "people person" who is friendly, empathetic and conscientious to patients, other health professionals and o everyone in the office. Taking care of patients requires patience!
- Must have (or develop quickly) a good understanding of medications. Pronunciations and spellings are hard if you are unfamiliar, but you must pick up on these things quickly
- Must maintain an excellent attendance record. The doctor and your patients depend on you.
- Must be serious about helping people and understand how important working with is. Peoples' lives could hang in the balance and what you do can have a positive impact!
- Must be willing to learn to draw blood (it's not hard, you just must not be opposed to learning).
- Must be highly organized

Schedule Details:

COVID-19:
Our techs are currently working from home due to COVID-19. We would align the techs start date with our Onboarding class so they can come in on the 1st day and learn how to sign in to the system before being sent home to setup and continue the Onboarding class. Interviews will be conducted via WebEx with the candidates. We do have a math portion of the interview so the candidate would need to sign into the WebEx on a computer. The candidates will work on multiple pharmacy programs.

Possible duties may include:
• Processing refills

• Answering phone calls
• Assist with clarifying physicians orders
• Assists with quality improvement initiatives
• Calculates medication dosages needed for patients based on prescription and prescribing guidelines
• Provides resolutions to a wide range of problems

Job Functions:
• The primary function is to perform Medication Regimen Review (MRR) chart reviews:

• Knowledge of pharmacy laws/regulations, plus specifically long-term care settings
